The same baskets used in Khmer households. Not a decorative version made for export. A lidded laundry basket replaces the plastic one that cracks after a year, and it looks better in a bathroom.

Keeping baskets through the monsoon
Natural fibre absorbs humidity, and Siem Reap gives it plenty. Keep baskets off a wet floor, and let them dry in the shade if they get soaked — a fan helps, direct sun does not.
Never dry a basket in full sun. The fibre goes brittle and starts cracking at the rim within a season.
If mould appears, wipe it with a cloth barely damp with vinegar, then air the piece for a day. Caught early it leaves no mark.
